Mississippi John Hurt was rediscovered by Tom Hoskins at Avalon Mississippi on March 3, 1963

Hoskins had heard the words of Hurt's Avalon Blues from 1928, "Avalon's my home town, always on my mind"

Having got to Avalon, Ms he enquired of the wherabouts of John Hurt at Stinson's Store on Highway 7 and was told, "up the dirt road, third mailbox on the left, that's where you'll find John.

Having found John, Hoskins was invited in. He switched on his tape recorder and recorded the first recordings made of Mississpp John Hurt since 1928. This CD portrays the events that followed in music and conversation.
